The American Roots Rock Band Brother Trucker’s first 3 albums were released on what was widely considered the seminal, Iowa Independent record label, Trailer Records. Based out of Iowa City, Trailer Records featured the very best of what was nationally coined as “The Iowa Sound”.

The Des Moines Water Works Park Foundation would like to invite you to enjoy our weekly Sunday event – Local Bands, Brews and Bikes. Listen to local bands and enjoy a brew from the Des Moines Biergarten, a pop-up beer garden serving up German-style beers and craft beers Wednesday through Sunday. Easily accessible by bike trails, this family (and pet!) friendly weekly event will run through the end of October.

Music in the Junction is the place to be in central Iowa on Thursday nights May through September. Railroad Park and the beverage garden opens at 5:00 pm with live music from 6:00-8:30 pm. Join us for a great season in Historic Valley Junction!

The Valley Junction Farmers Market is home to over 80 weekly vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, plants and flowers, arts and crafts, and prepared foods. Join your friends and neighbors from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Special performances events are scheduled throughout the season.

Brother Trucker Kicks off the Jasper Winery Summer Concert Series!

Join us for our “Live at the Creek” summer concert series Sunday, August 21st from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Enjoy live music by Brother Trucker from the amphitheater or one of our five lakeside patio restaurants. A beer and wine garden by Function House Hospitality Group will be located next to the amphitheater.

$5 Cover Charge per person Music from 6:30-9:30 PM Hot Peppers Mexican Grill serving from 5:30-8:00 PM Weather permitting (precip/temp), music will be outside so bring a lawn chair as seating is limited. The Americana Roots Rock Band Brother Trucker, is an honest-to-goodness Iowa institution. Since 2000, the band has toured extensively, bringing their roots rock and country to avid fans in bars and venues throughout the Midwest. Come join us and take in their amazing sound while you kick back with glass of wine.

Guests are allowed to bring their own food, and are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. Wine, beer, and sangria are available. Food trucks are always onsite offering burgers, pizza, etc. These concerts are great for families (kids allowed), or an evening out with friends!

Sips & Songs is a free family-friendly summer celebration of community and music, food and drinks, plus games and activities. Bring a chair or blanket and join us for this Friday night concert series to kick-off the weekend. Drinks and food from area restaurants will be available for purchase. This week Jethro's BBQ Lakehouse and Cold Stone Creamery bring the yum!
